בית - פרויקט כרזות בינלאומי

תערוכה זו הינה תוצר של סדנאות שערך יאשה רוזוב, במשך מספר שבועות בצ'כיה ובסלובקיה, במהלך חודש מרץ 2007. גיא שגיא ערך סדנה דומה עם תלמידיו בקורס לעיצוב כרזות באקדמיה לעיצוב ויצו חיפה במהלך חודש יוני 2007.

המושג 'בית' ניתן לסטודנטים מהאקדמיות השונות כמושא להתייחסות. השתתפו סטודנטים מהאקדמיה לאמנות ועיצוב בברטיסלבה, סלובקיה; הפקולטה לאומנות ועיצוב באוניברסיטת י.א.פורקינייה באוסטי-נד-לבם, צ'כיה; אוניברסטת בוהמיה המערבית, פילזן, צ'כיה והאקדמיה לעיצוב ויצו בחיפה.

בתערוכה זו מוצגות כרזות המפרשות באופן יחידני את המושג 'בית'. מושג זה הינו אוניברסלי ושורשיו עמוקים. אנו שוקלים את ה'בית הלאומי' ואת הבית הגשמי. הבית בו גדלנו וחונכנו מותיר בנו חותם זמן רב אחרי שעזבנו אותו. אנו נוצרים בבית מתרבות אחת, ניזונים ממנה ושוקלים אותה מחדש כאשר אנו מוצאים עצמנו בתרבות זרה. אנו אוהבים את ביתנו, חשים אמביוולנטיות לגביו, תרים אחר בית חדש אבל לעולם איננו יכולים להתעלם מקיומו של זה המקורי.

International Poster Project

This poster project and exhibition is the product of workshops conducted over the course of a few weeks by Yasha Rozov in The Czech Republic and Slovakia during March 2007. Guy Saggee conducted a similar Workshop in Haifa during the month of June. The theme “Home” was selected as an overarching subject for these workshops. The Workshops were conducted in Bratislava, Slovakia; Usti Nad Labem & Plzen in the Czech Republic and Haifa, Israel.

Individual interpretations of this theme in poster form may be viewed in this exhibition. The concept of “Home” is universal and deep-rooted. We regard our national home or our physical home. Our childhood home has lasting effects upon us. We feel at home within our own culture to various degrees and visiting another culture we reflect upon our own. We love our home, we are ambivalent towards it …we go seeking greener pastures but rarely are we indifferent to it.

The posters presented here were selected for this exhibition based on their clarity of communication and design. You will see some explanations alongside these posters. These are necessary to introduce the issues dealt with which are far and wide and some very local. The students were instructed to use their mother tongue and not try to please anyone by translating their work into English. This has proved instrumental in the process of developing their ideas, since they could fully identify with their subjects and mine what their languages and local idioms had to offe, without grappling with a language that is not part of their standard set of tools.
